DIY soap recycling - Soap on the rope
One topic that I can't get past in my workshops is recycling soap scraps or unsuccessful soap bars. There are so many ways to use them instead of throwing them away.
One of them is to finely grate soap scraps. They can be mixed with fragrance, colorant and flowers. Knead the soap shavings well and shape them into a ball, for example. I then drilled a hole through the ball, pulled a string through it and my “soap on the rope” is ready to decorate my bathroom. Alternatively, you can press the soap shavings firmly into silicone molds and unmold them once they have set.
If your soap residue is too dry, spray a little water on the shavings. Alternatively, you can add a little oil to make the mixture smoother and more malleable.
The best thing about it is that there is no maturing time and you can use it straight away. And you always have a delicious gift ready in no time at all.
You can find more tips on soap recycling in my second book “Natural Soap for the Household”.
